Written By empatlima on Senin, 25 Juli 2011 | 20.59

Ben Spies, who finished sixth in his debut with the factory Yamaha MotoGP team on the series premiere in Qatar two weeks ago, had a great determination to face the second series in Jerez this weekend. Texas-born rider, said he wanted to settle affairs in Jerez, which last year failed to do.

Last season while still defending the Yamaha Tech 3 satellite team, Spies finished in seventh position at the Spanish Grand Prix qualifying. Unfortunately, the former world superbike champion had to swallow this bitter pill because I could not finish the race due to having problems on the front tire. This is what makes him curious and want to reply on 3 April.

"I have yet to work out a deal here in Jerez," said Spies. "I actually enjoyed the race here last year, but must be disappointed because they can not gain points from the race. Now I am back with a factory machine, so I'm sure to get the results of course a little different!

"We have an understanding of tracks from last year so it could focus entirely on the M1 setting 2011 season, and we'll see what can be done. This is a race at a friend's house setimku, so I expect a great atmosphere."

Yamaha factory team's new director, Massimo Meregalli, who also delivered a world champion Spies World Superbike 2009, convinced that this weekend they'll look good.

"Last year, Ben had no luck during the race, but during practice and qualifying, the record time was not too bad," he said. "Of course he knew the circuit so that it can immediately focus on finding the right setting and concentration in the selection of the right tire. Curve-fast corners at Jerez good for us, our motors can work well and we always achieve good results here with M1 . "

In the series opener at Losail, March 20, Spies had to settle for finishing in the top six. He was 10 seconds adrift of the Repsol Honda rider, Casey Stoner, who won and left seven seconds from his team mate who is the defending champion, Jorge Lorenzo, who was runner-up.

Stoner Will Admit It's hard at Jerez

Casey Stoner admitted he will have difficulty repeating the glittering debut with Honda, when it appeared on the second series of 2011 in Jerez MotoGP on Sunday (03.04.11). The reason, the rival has a good memory in circuit.

Indeed, Stoner started the new season is very intriguing. In his first appearance with the HRC in Qatar on 20 March, the Australian rider was so brilliant world champion Jorge Lorenzo, and his teammate, Dani Pedrosa, who successively in positions two and three.

But ahead of this weekend's Spanish GP, Stoner tried to be more realistic. 2007 world champion admitted that Lorenzo and Pedrosa are more a favorite, given the results of two seasons ago when I was riding the Desmosedici GP9, her only number three on the podium. Moreover, Lorenzo and Pedrosa, the Spaniard who incidentally, will surely have the support of 100,000 supporters.

"Things are never a good place for me in Jerez. But I always come back next year with optimism, and I will do the same this year.

"Last year, Jorge performing Dani fantastic here and very fast with a motor that previously he had experienced difficulty in recording the best time. We will go there to fight the two riders are very competitive and I think we can expect the other driver is also good.

"So, we have to keep my feet on the ground and try and do the best job in a circuit that strange to me."

The first ambition Lorenzo wants to repeat last year's achievements that have won the race. "We know Jorge's performance here (Jerez) is very good, especially when compared to the same Casey," said Wilco Zeelenberg, the Yamaha team manager.

2010 world champion Jorge was determined to win the race the second round. For, if to succeed, it will align the achievement itself with 1999 world champion Alex Criville, also from Spain.

Criville recorded as Spain's most successful motorcycle rider. During his career, he won the race 15 times. The highest degree wrested the world champion when beersam Honda team.

While Jorge is now bagging 14 victories. When in Losail, Qatar, he admitted that the circuit is suitable for Honda RC212V powerful. But Jerez is full of twists, very profitable for the Yamaha M1. Especially when at Losail, Jorge distance with Casey just 0.156 seconds adrift.

Can Stoner in Circuit "Worst"?

Casey Stoner appeared very strong in his debut with Repsol Honda team in MotoGP 2011 series opener at the Losail Circuit, Qatar, March 20. Is this weekend in Jerez, Spain, Australia rider is back making brilliant results?

Wait a minute! Talk about motors, we need not doubt the strength and capability of the engine Honda mount. However, talk to record at the Jerez circuit, Stoner's achievement was not too good, fairly even worst compared to other circuits because he had only one podium finishes in the top three MotoGP-2009-from nine appearances at Jerez for all grand prix classes.

Not only in Jerez, Stoner also had a poor record in the Le Mans Circuit, France, since he is also just one podium finishes third, from a total of nine times a race there.

Well, with such a bad record, interesting to see how the 2007 world pursuit champion on the race on Sunday (03.04.11). Can she compete with the two riders host, namely his teammate Dani Pedrosa and world champion Jorge Lorenzo (Yamaha)?

Last year, Lorenzo and Pedrosa appeared dominant in this circuit, where they finish in positions 1-2. At that time, which is still riding the Ducati Stoner had to settle for finishing in the top five. If this season Stoner was able to make a surprise and managed to repeat such a fantastic victory in Qatar, it is of course a blow to the Spanish duo.

"In the last few years, I did not get a good result at Jerez during the race because I was not too fast," said Stoner.

"After a good start to the season, we have the opportunity to enhance a positive result at the weekend. The competition has just begun, and we still have to work hard."

The first free practice at Jerez will take place on Friday at 10:10 to 10:55 or 15:10 to 15:55 pm local time, followed by a second free practice at 14:10 to 14:55 (19:10 to 19:55 GMT). major step towards victory

Valentino Rossi admitted earlier this season became a very difficult moment for himself and Ducati. "The Doctor" to express it after seeing how "great strides" made its rivals (Honda and Yamaha) during the winter.
It's a difficult moment because we face two different issues. First is me, who need additional time to be in 100 percent condition, and the second is a motor problem.
- Valentino Rossi

Results in Losail Circuit, Qatar, on 20 March to be evidence of how the difficulties experienced by his camp. In his debut with the Desmosedici GP11 in the arena of MotoGP, Rossi could only finish in seventh position. He was unable to match the Honda and Yamaha rider, who finished in front of him, on the series premiere.

What about the preparations to face the second series in Jerez, Spain, this weekend?

Owner of number 46 is the most successful rider when she appeared at Jerez because it won six victories in the premier class. However, his ambition to carve a seventh victory on Sunday (03/04/2011) faces a big obstacle because there are two factors that do not support, namely the physical condition and performance of GP11.

"It's a difficult moment because we face two different issues. First is me, who need additional time to be in 100 percent condition, and the second is a motor problem," said Rossi.

"I should be in better condition so he could ride the Desmosedici at best. But on the other hand, most other motors, especially Honda, have made a big step and we should be able to equate such a move."

When asked whether his decision to move to Ducati is to find the biggest challenge of his career, Rossi replied, "Yamaha also has a big challenge. Now, I think a little more difficult because the level is higher and also because of my condition. I need more time."

Regarding the race this weekend at Jerez, he said, "I'm glad this track, love the Andalucia region, and here there are always lots of people. Here we will try to improve outcomes in Qatar where we finished in seventh position."
